When an organisation suddenly finds itself in the media, political or activist spotlight, the quality of Board and executive judgement can become highly visible and highly consequential.
This unique and interactive meeting explores 'Reputation, Protest and Public Pressure', drawing on experiences from TikTok and other organisations that have navigated intense public scrutiny.
Protest, activist campaigns and reputational attacks can now escalate rapidly, cross borders and move from social media to mainstream media, politicians, regulators, employees and customers within hours. For Chairs, NEDs and General Counsels, these are no longer simply communications challenges. They are governance events where reputation, commercial interests, organisational values and legal risk collide.
The meeting will explore:
1. Judgement under pressure - making decisions when facts are incomplete and scrutiny is intense.
2. Governance vs commercial reality - balancing legal and governance caution with reputation and business impact.
3. The critical first 24–48 hours - what Boards and executive teams should do, and avoid doing.
4. Creating internal alignment - coordinating the Board, executives, Legal and Communications without overreacting.
5. Regaining control - responding credibly while protecting the organisation, its people and long-term reputation.
Participants will leave with practical lessons and a clearer framework for navigating public scrutiny, protest and reputational attacks when the stakes are highest.
