This follow-up roundtable has been convened in response to strong sector interest following the publication of the Affordable Housing Network’s Competence & Conduct Standard Group Discussion Paper, which has now been formally shared with MHCLG and the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH).
The session aims to:
- Continue the dialogue between housing providers, MHCLG and RSH
- Test and refine key themes raised in the discussion paper
- Explore how the Competence & Conduct Standard can be implemented in a way that is proportionate, practical and outcomes-focused, while safeguarding workforce capacity and sector sustainability
Context
The discussion paper reflects insights from senior housing professionals across a range of registered providers. It captures both strong support for the objectives of the Competence & Conduct Standard and a number of practical concerns relating to implementation, workforce impact, and unintended consequences.
MHCLG and RSH have indicated that they welcome the sector’s response and are keen to explore the points raised in more depth, with a view to continuing constructive engagement as the Standard is implemented.
