Winmark and CIO-Connect invite you to a two-hour seminar on cyber resilience, focusing on how to make your organisation breach-ready in the face of escalating cyber threats.
In 2024, cyberattacks reached unprecedented levels of severity. Examples include United Healthcare’s $22 million ransomware payment, compromising the medical data of over a third of Americans; a ransomware attack on the Port of Seattle halting air travel for a week; and Snowflake's breach exposing data of 500 million Ticketmaster users. These incidents highlight the rising frequency and scale of cyber threats, fuelled by AI and military-grade tools available on the dark web. Projections suggest three-quarters of major organisations will face breaches by 2025.
The Hong Kong government’s ”Protection of Critical Infrastructure” bill, passed in December 2024, obliges organizations to prioritize strong data production measures and imposes significant fines for those who fail to comply.
While breaches may be inevitable, their impact depends on cyber resilience. Our expert speakers will share insights from boardroom and IT perspectives:
Peter Bourke: Former global CIO of CK Hutchinson Holdings and Westfield Group, now advising boards on aligning technology with business goals.
Richard Stagg: Managing Director of Handshake Networking, with 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and penetration testing.
Our two-hour seminar will be followed by lunch and networking for attendees. We look forward to seeing you at what is set to be an enlightening session.
