Winmark Network Meeting

What should the ‘Smart’ mean in “Smart City” For Hong Kong

About

This is an in-person session for Hong Kong.

You are invited to attend a panel discussion about the key “smart city” initiatives that will reinforce Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s #1 global business hub.

At this session, our panel will be taking a deep dive into specific topics at the top of the Smart City agenda. These include:

• How Smart Energy innovations deliver cleaner, more scalable, and more resilient energy for increasingly power-hungry data centers.
• How Smart Transport strategies, like urban air taxis, will make getting around Hong Kong faster, more comfortable, and more efficient.
• How Smart Connectivity ensures that bandwidth will never be a pinch point for doing business or having fun in Hong Kong.
• How Smart Green initiatives make Hong Kong a magnet for people building new businesses and raising families.

Our panellists will also address the practical questions of:
• Which Smart Cities initiatives will give Hong Kong the biggest “bang for the buck” in attracting global companies and talented entrepreneurs?
• How should business and government work together to expedite results and optimize ROI?
• How to develop a pragmatic Smart Cities strategy for Hong Kong and how to assign the right people the responsibility for delivering it?

His experience around the globe includes plans and initiatives for new and revitalised places, large-scale urbanisation and regional strategies, climate change strategy and policy, master planning for transit oriented development, and pioneering creation of a mechanism in the UK for low-carbon retrofit of existing buildings.
