This meeting will explore what drives CMOs’ business impact and career success, drawing mainly on the research behind 'The 12 Powers of a Marketing Leader', the largest ever global study of marketing leadership, analyzing detailed original data on over 1,200 marketing leaders and more than 67,000 existing 360-degree assessments of both marketing and non-marketing business leaders.

The 12 Powers of a Marketing Leader is the first leadership book for marketers based on anything like this level of research evidence.

We will also discuss Stanford University professor Kathleen Eisenhardt’s research on how successful team leaders encourage ‘good’ conflict (team members’ willingness to speak up when they disagree) without triggering harmful interpersonal conflict.

Participants will take away a range of practical, evidence-based insights on how to increase their business impact and career success and maximise the value of team discussions.

Our Speaker:

Professor Patrick Barwise is Emeritus Professor of Management and Marketing at London Business School and Chairman of the Archive of Market and Social Research.

After an early career at IBM, Patrick joined LBS in 1976, specialising in customer-focused strategy and execution, marketing leadership, brands, advertising, and broadcasting policy. He is also chairman of the Archive of Market and Social Research and former chairman of Which?, the UK’s leading consumer organisation.

Our Chair:

Simon Lloyd has over 25 years’ experience working with some of the World's most iconic brands including Nokia, Kellogg's and AXA. He was recently the Chief Marketing Officer for Aldermore Bank leading their marketing and customer transformation.

Formerly the Chief Marketing Officer of Virgin Atlantic, Simon has years of experience being at the forefront of creative, digital and innovative marketing, including as Director of Media Engagement, Marketing and Audiences at the BBC.
