There is no clear playbook for businesses to use when seeking to work with or influence the government's agenda. This can lead to difficulties around actors such as regulation, which can affect the growth of private enterprises and as a whole affect growth and innovation in the UK. Recognising this, we've put together a meeting led by the UK Government Legal Department (GLD), where members can hear from Peter King (Director, Treasury Legal Advisers - His Majesty's Treasury), and Justinia Lewes (Legal Director, Commercial Law Group - GLD), focusing on 'how' members can work effectively with government.
The focus of this event will be the UK government although many of the lessons learned will be transferable. We will address responsibilities, such as the difference between Regulators and Whitehall, as well as how best to engage with the Government at both macro and operational levels. Members will leave the session better placed to represent and serve their organisations and their industries' interests at the highest level.
