Sir William Patey, former ambassador to Sudan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan; and current NED at Control Risks will be chairing this session around Reputation, Trade, and Sanctions.
Navigating geo-political issues as a global business can be tricky, especially when economic sanctions are involved. How can business leaders for entities located in affected countries manage the threat to trade posed by sanctions, while also considering their businesses reputation? This issue has many moving parts, and is best tackled collaboratively with legal and risk leading the charge. Recognising this, we've put together a session for members to discuss the important topic of sanctions, where attendees can hear from members who have dealt with this issue in the past as well as have an open discussion around what effective protocol looks like.
We'll be hearing from Henry Smith (Partner, Control Risks); as well as Dmitry Vishnyakov (Head of Government and Public Affairs); and Keith Huffman (Chief Legal Counsel - Export Control, SAP). Members should come away from this meeting prepared to deal with the tricky issue of sanctions more confidently, and able to strategise more effectively to minimise their effects.
