Understanding how employees’ brains work is a win-win for organisations. It enables leaders to build cultures, design structures and implement processes that help people become more innovative, productive and engaged, creating lasting benefits both for the organisation and for the employee. Also, in the current environment, we need to change the way we manage change as the idea of a 'change project' becomes a thing of the past.
This workshop is a taster session designed to help you start to explore why we find organisational change challenging and what we can do to keep all involved performing at their best. We will cover the essential role that leaders and managers play and what that looks like, how to best manage emotions, and why communication, involvement, and storytelling help us through change which we all find difficult for biological as well as psychological reasons. We will also introduce how to use a new science-based tool ‘spaces’ which can be used to enhance motivation.

During this workshop you will:
• Understand a leader’s role in creating a culture where employees are supported effectively during change.
• Discover why our brains don’t like organisational change and what we can do about that.
• Understand what helps the brain to be focused and creative, and the importance of getting the balance right between stretching people and not causing them overwhelming stress.
The workshop will provide a fresh perspective on organisational change drawing on emerging thinking in neuroscience, approaching change from both a biological and anthropological perspective,. and providing new insights and understanding as to why people behave very differently during significant change.
